We are so thrilled for Joanna Dillon, (our longest standing client) who today successfully qualified for the British Eventing Grass Roots National Championships to be held at Badminton in May 2011, just before the main 4 star event!!

Joanna and her beautiful horse Ard Duplicate (Caitlin) - a six year old grey mare who Joanna has produced herself after buying her in foal and unbroken from Ireland as a 3 year old, qualified for the Regional Final after a fantastic win in the Intro class at Berkshire College earlier this season.  At the Regional Final (held at Firle Place Horse Trials today) Joanna and Caitlin had a great result finishing 7th and most impressivley on their dressage score!  The top seven places go on to compete at the National Championships next spring against a field of qualified finalists from across the country - like Joanna all of whom will have won an Intro event in their own right as well as being placed in the top 7 of a regional final, so the competition is going to be tight.

Very many congratulations Joanna and Caitlin, all your very hard work has paid off and what an incredible first season for a talented young horse and focused, determined jockey!!

 BADMINTON HERE WE COME!!!!!!!

Firle Horse Trials was also a good event for another of our clinets Fallon Turner on her lovely chestnut gelding Alfie.  They had a great day out and finished 4th in the Pre-Novice section.  This is Fallon and Alfie's first season together and they are definatley and exiting combination to watch for the future.

WELL DONE FALLON AND ALFIE!!

This week we had a real treat when Lucinda Green MBE (6 times Badminton winner and former European and World Champion) came to run a clinic at the yard. We had a host of top riders attending including:

Belgian Olympic event rider - Constantin Van Rijkervorsel
International 4 Star rider - Therese Van Rijkervorsel
Top Swedish eventer - Anna Hilton
International 4 star rider - Georgia Bale
and
Lissa Green - Lucinda's daughter and an exceptional rider in her own right.

I was also lucky enough to take part on the two hunt horses Imp and Flint (owned by Mrs Yvonne Ferguson) both of whom I've been competing at Novice level this season.

Lessons ran from early morning on the younger horses through until the afternoon when the most advanced horses finished last.

Everybody had a great time and learn't a lot from the sessions.

"Teaching at Golden Oak Eventing was a real pleasure!  The relaxed atmosphere coupled with the well maintained arena were together an excellent schooling environment for all involved."  Lucinda Green - 6 times Badminton winner, World and European Gold Medalist.
Thank you Lucinda for a great day!
